The Energy Advantage

Toxic Toiletries ... Pores for Thought

We live in a toxic world! Pollutants are coming at us from all sources - including what we eat and what we smear on our skin.

Does your skin feel "tight" after washing with soap? How much conditioner do you have to use to restore the softness to your hair? Do you, or your children, suffer from unexplained headaches, rashes, eczema or psoriasis?

Have you ever thought about what goes into most top commercial brands of soaps, moisture creams, shampoos and bubble bath?

Most contain harsh detergents, colourings, perfumes and preservatives which are absorbed into your body, via your skin. What you put ON your skin, can add to your toxic load - as much as what you swallow and put directly INTO your body.

Chris is passionate about helping individuals make informed choices and knowing how to choose quality products. She will take you on a journey - a behind the scenes tour of what goes into the contents of your bathroom cabinet.

You will learn how to read - and how to make sense of - food and cosmetic labels. Find out what to look for, and what to avoid - to choose the best food, shampoo, toothpaste, moisture creams and soaps for you and your family.

Chris will bring along a selection of quality products - which are available to buy after the talk. These include the Simply Soaps range of soaps and shampoo bars. Simply Soaps was set up by two brothers in Norwich, who were awarded a Prince's Trust grant.

Lawrence and Jim had a simple goal - to make the best soaps in the world! This means no synthetic detergents, perfumes, colourings or preservatives. They use minimal packaging and a low energy manufacturing process.

All of the products are made from as many organic ingredients as possible - including olive oil, almond oil with essential oils such as lavender, geranium, antiseptic tea tree, stimulating rosemary and little extras such as mashed whole banana (great for eczema) and mineral rich seaweed!
